About Us
Kids in Need of Dentistry was formed in 1912 when a group of Denver dentists began offering care to children of low-income miners and railroad workers. Over the last century, KIND has remained true to its mission of providing high-quality, affordable dental care and education to kids in need throughout Colorado.
Today, the need for affordable dental care for children is very real. Through our network of more than 250 volunteer and paid dental professionals, KIND provides children with the dental services they need, including:
- Comprehensive oral exams
- Professional cleanings and dental sealants
- Restorative treatments such as fillings
- Emergency care
- Specialty services—orthodontics, pedodontics, endodontics and oral surgery
High Quality, Affordable Dental Care
Kids in Need of Dentistry is an affordable option for low-income families seeking professional dental care. Qualifying families pay a small percentage of the total cost of the dental services.
Our volunteer dental professionals offer a standard of care consistent with American Dental Association guidelines. Families who qualify for KIND services can be confident their children will receive professional dental care and a positive overall experience.
Locations KIND serves children at three facilities in the Denver area and one facility in Colorado Springs. We also reach children in rural and underserved urban communities statewide through our state-of-the-art mobile Miles for Smiles dental unit, and in Denver-area elementary schools through our Chopper Topper program.
